what's with the blogging?

I was reading the news on the paper and the internet. People blog - vjs, students, artists. Even politicians. Why then is it an issue when teachers blog?

Perhaps there is a tendency for teachers to get carried away with their remarks. Saying so much about their students and work. So, why is it not a big deal for politicians to blog, but not teachers. Their words should be more powerful than the teachers but why dont people make a deal out of politicians blogging.

Teachers, what have you missed out when you blog to receive such scrutiny???
